2014 North Carolina Fallen Firefighter Memorial Service

On May third in downtown Raleigh, the North Carolina Forest Service was proud to have its newly formed honor guard participate in the 2014 state Fallen Firefighters Memorial Service. This year two NCFS employees were added to the memorial plaque, both of whom lost their lives in the 1950s. James "Dock" Kennedy was a tractor plow operator out of New Bern who died in 1955. Thomas Begley was the district ranger in Asheville when he died in the line of duty.
